Alphonso "Blind Blake" Higgs
A Bahamian known as the best Goombay Performer in the Bahamas, at least for a few decades, and also known as a Storyteller. He mastered every string instrument and settled for the Banjo. Known as the “Blind Minstrel”, a group of musicians worked at many local spots, nightclubs, and Hotels and recorded numerous albums, a few of which were later covered by international artists. He performed for the President of the United States of America, J. F. Kennedy, and also the Duke of Windsor for whom he did a remake of a special song.
